When you’re entertaining for the holidays, you probably want to have a holiday appetizer or two, but you don’t want to overwhelm yourself when you’re already preparing a big meal! When I’m entertaining and making an appetizer to serve before dinner, I want it to take less than 10 minutes to make. I want a delicious bite that people can grab and pair with a glass of wine or cocktail while the socialize. White cheddar and apple crostini is the perfect 6 ingredient appetizer that takes just minutes to make. Everyone will love these!
Making this white cheddar and apple crostini is simple. First, slice your loaf of French bread. I like to slice mine on a bit of an angle, about 1/2 and inch to one inch thick. Then I lay all the slices on a baking sheet and top each with a slice of white cheddar cheese. While the cheese is getting melty and delicious in the oven, I slice a honeycrisp apple. When my crostini comes out of the oven, I top each one with a little prosciutto, a few apple slices, and arugula before drizzling with honey. It doesn’t get much easier than that!
With an easy appetizer like this one, you can make as many or as few as you need depending on the size of your crowd! These would also be excellent as part of a cheeseboard. I’m posting this recipe prior to the holidays because they would be excellent for Thanksgiving or Christmas, but because none of the ingredients in this crostini recipe are too seasonal, this is an easy recipe to enjoy year round!
