Sometimes I get asked, “what is the most popular recipe that you make?” It depends on who I’m cooking for and what the occasion is, but I think the answer to the question is these jalapeno popper wontons. I’ve been making these for years, for every party, every event, everything that we host. They’re great for a game day snack and I make them frequently during football season, but they are equally great for a summer BBQ or any get together. They aren’t overly spicy and are the best combination of heat from the jalapenos, creamy cheese, crispy bacon, and a crunchy wonton wrapper.
When it comes to making appetizers, I think the key is that they need to be easy. If you’re hosting a big event and have a house to clean and a main course to make, the last thing on your mind is appetizers. Fortunately, these are so easy to make and everyone will love them. If you’re going to an event at someone’s house, these are the perfect appetizer to bring.
During football season, our regular guests will frequently ask if I made these jalapeno popper wontons as soon as they walk in the door. The answer is always yes. I can’t NOT make something that’s this much of a hit! I’m confident that if you add these to your list of regular appetizers, they will be just as popular!
