I have a serious sweet tooth and I love chocolate, especially ice cream. And while I don’t mind indulging when the craving strikes, a lot of the time I’m looking for a healthier way to satisfy my sweet tooth. This chocolate banana smoothie recipe tastes just like a milkshake, it’s the perfect healthy snack when sugar cravings strike. Made with simple ingredients that come together for the perfect milkshake-like treat. When you have extra ripe bananas, put them in the freezer so you can enjoy this anytime!
To make your healthier version of a chocolate milkshake, you just need ripe bananas, almond milk (or another milk of your choosing, but I like unsweetened vanilla almond milk in this recipe), cocoa powder, honey, vanilla extract, peanut butter, and a big handful of spinach. The peanut butter adds the perfect creaminess to the smoothie and you can’t go wrong with the chocolate and peanut butter combination. You can’t even taste the spinach in the smoothie, and I always try to get some extra veggies in my smoothie recipes, especially when I’m giving them to the kids. We could all use more greens in our lives!
This chocolate banana smoothie is sure to be a favorite, and it’s perfect anytime you want a sweet treat.
