Nutella Stuffed Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie

Nutella Stuffed Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie

Happy Valentine’s Day! It’s not Valentine’s Day without a sweet treat, and this Nutella-stuffed skillet chocolate chip cookie is exactly what I want to celebrate. Since it’s made in a skillet, this recipe takes even less time to make since you don’t have to scoop out individual cookies. From start to finish, you can be enjoying this gooey chocolate chip cookie in about 30 minutes. Top it with vanilla ice cream and enjoy warm anytime that sweet tooth strikes. I’m a big fan of Nutella, and what better way to enjoy that tucked in a skillet full of everyone’s favorite cookie?

Nutella Stuffed Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ingredients for Your Nutella Skillet Cookie

  • Butter: We are using unsalted butter in this recipe, and we are also going to brown it for some extra nutty notes.
  • Sugars: Both granulated and brown sugar are in this recipe and are in most cookie recipes. The brown sugar adds a certain depth of flavor and having both sugars together gives a caramelly flavor as well as add sweetness.
  • Egg: Just one egg in this recipe used as a binder.
  • Vanilla extract: Chocolate chip cookies have relatively few ingredients, and the quality of them is important. I recommend using pure vanilla extract in this recipe to maximize the flavor verses imitation vanilla extract.
  • Baking soda: A leavening agent is necessary to help the cookie rise.
  • Flour: All-purpose flour is used in this recipe.
  • Salt: It may seem counterintuitive, but adding salt to baked goods helps bring out the sweetness. Not too much! But definitely don’t skip it.
  • Chocolate chips: Where would we be without chocolate chips? Use your favorite: milk, semi-sweet, or dark. I used semisweet in this recipe but I also love dark chocolate.
  • Nutella: If you don’t have any, this cookie is still delicious. But the Nutella does add an extra decadence and it’s so gooey and warm hot out of the oven.
  • Vanilla ice cream: I think it’s mandatory to serve a warm skillet cookie with a few heaping scoops of vanilla ice cream, and once you taste it I’m sure you’ll agree.

How to Make Your Stuffed Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie

  • Preheat the oven and get a small saucepan out to brown your butter. Butter can go from browned to burned quickly so keep an eye on it!
  • To a stand mixer add your melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar and mix until blended. Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat again.
  • Add the baking soda and salt and mix to combine, then add the flour and mix until the dough comes together!
  • Finally add your chocolate chips and mix to combine.
  • Spray a 6-inch skillet with nonstick cooking spray and press half the dough into the bottom. Spread the Nutella over the cookie dough, then top with the remaining cookie dough and carefully press down.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes and serve warm topped with vanilla ice cream!

“Are you hungry? Are you tired? Do you need a jack “Are you hungry? Are you tired? Do you need a jacket, some water?
Of course, I’ll carry everything you’ve collected.
Of course, I’ll sit on the grass.
Do you need a fortress, a fire, something soft to fall onto?
I’ll hold you, hold you together.
Hold you forever.
Will you always reach for my hand the way you do now?
I’ll expand if you need me to. I’ll give if it helps you.
I’ll cross every river and face every storm.
Is that too much? Too little?
Am I guiding you forward or holding you back?
You’re green now but in a blink you’ll be older. I’m getting older.
This life flicks by faster and faster. One day I’ll leave you.
I don’t want to leave you.
Can I pause time? Bottle this moment? How do I keep you when nothing lasts?”
