I am here for this easy and delicious holiday dessert! Let’s make something easy, but that’s also tasty and uses in-season ingredients like fresh cranberries. Cranberry apple crisp is the perfect mix of sweet and tart, baked until bubbling with a crumbly topping. A scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce is all you need to complete this and your dessert is ready to go! It’s good enough to be your dessert after Christmas dinner, but it’s easy enough to make any day of the week. Sometimes, a simple and rustic dessert is exactly what you need. The most time-consuming part of this dessert is peeling and slicing the apples, everything else is a breeze!
To make this easy cranberry apple crisp, start by peeling, coring, and slicing 6 large apples. For this recipe, I love using honeycrisp apples but go ahead and use your favorite! Throw your apples right into the baking dish with two cups of fresh cranberries. Toss with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. In a medium bowl, mix together the ingredients for your topping. Brown sugar, rolled oats, flour, salt, cinnamon and butter. Sprinkle over your fruit and bake until bubbling. Serve your cranberry apple crisp warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle. The caramel drizzle and vanilla ice cream are both optional, but they truly make the dish.
Once you make this dessert once and see how easy it is, you’ll want to make it again and again.
