About two hours from our house in Washington State is the lavender capital of North America. Most of the lavender farms are in a town called Sequim, but there are a few just outside of it in Port Angeles and the surrounding area. Washington gets a bad reputation for getting a lot of rain, and some places certainly do, but there are also parts of the state that are very dry and are even labeled deserts. How wild is that? In one state we have beaches, mountains, deserts, a rainforest, and more. ... continue reading...
Baked Ranch Pretzels
I think it's safe to say that pregnancy is definitely influencing what I test and share on the blog! Sweets have been a big craving for me this time around, but so have carbs in general. Shrimp and Corn Chowder
Chowder may not be the first thing you want to have on a summer day, but when fresh corn is perfectly sweet and delicious in the summer I can't help but use it in a creamy soup like this shrimp and corn chowder. Initially I was leaning towards a classic bundt-style cake studded with peaches, but then I had the genius idea to make a peach upside-down cake! The peaches are the perfect pair for the buttery brown sugar glaze ... continue reading...

This helps the kale become more tender, and make sure you get some of the dressing's flavor in every bite. This ... continue reading...
