Restaurants always seem to have the most interesting salad combinations, but those recipes aren't impossible to replicate at home! I've always loved fruit in salads; nothing like some crisp apple or ripe pear on top of a bed of spring greens! To make it work, you need the right balance of sweet, salt, acid, and textures. Luckily for you, this pear and walnut salad doesn't use any complicated ingredients and is topped with a simple and delicious lemon honey vinaigrette that you'll want to put on ... continue reading...
Butternut Squash Tomato Soup
I'm back in the new year with a new recipe! If you're following along on Instagram, you know that we welcomed our fourth baby in September. Aurora Marie joined her two big brothers and one big sister and we are all smitten with her. I always wanted two boys and two girls and I feel very blessed that she's joined our family. Apple Cider Sangria
It's been a while since I've had a blog post up! Last month we were blessed to welcome our fourth child and second daughter, Aurora Marie. One of my favorite meals to enjoy in the fall is a grilled protein with a big salad on the side. You could even add grilled chicken, pork, or shrimp skewers to this salad and have a perfect meal. I pick up fresh figs from a local farm stand, but some grocery stores carry them as well. Just remember ... continue reading...
Lemon Herb Goat Cheese
My favorite easy appetizer is a big cheese board. Add in some crackers, fruit, nuts, and maybe some salami and you've got a snacking board that everyone will love. The only danger is filling up on your cheese board before a big meal! Sometimes I serve "snack dinner" and we enjoy a big cheese and meat platter, open a bottle of wine, and enjoy a sunny weekend. This lemon and herb goat cheese is perfect by itself, but also a great addition to a cheese board. This lemon and herb goat cheese ... continue reading...
