Margaritas are one of my favorite cocktails. It has to be a margarita with real lime juice, no fake sour mix. But even a simple classic one is my go-to in the summer while Kevin is grilling and we relax on the patio. Since this weekend is Cinco de Mayo, let’s up our margarita game with these strawberry orange margaritas.
These are hands down my new favorite margaritas. They’re so refreshing, a little sweet, and perfect with either a salt or sugared rim. To make it even easier, you can make the whole drink in your high speed blender or food processor. Start by pureeing the strawberries then add the rest of the ingredients. Pour over ice and enjoy!
Let’s let Cinco de Mayo kick off margarita season! Also, if you don’t have strawberries, you can certainly substitute another berry in this cocktail. If you’re using something with a lot of seeds, like blackberries, you may want to strain the puree before adding the rest of the ingredients.
If you triple or quadruple this recipe, you’ve got a pitcher of strawberry orange margaritas ready for a crowd. Enjoy!
- 6 oz. strawberries
- 4 oz. tequila
- 2 limes, juiced
- 2 oz. triple sec
- ¾ cup orange juice
- Salt or sugar for rim, if desired
- In a high speed blender or food processor, puree strawberries.
- Add tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and orange juice. Pulse to combine.
- Rub a lime on the rims of two glasses. Dip into coarse salt or sugar and fill with ice. Pour margaritas in and enjoy!
