Last week I spent a few days visiting my best friend in sunny Arizona seeing her new home and while I miss her every day it brought me so much joy to see how happy she is and how her whole family is thriving! @teeter_totter_mom and I had the best time chatting nonstop for three days as we hiked and ran and of course ate McDonalds. You love to read and build Legos. You’re a great student and super creative and can frequently be found drawing at the kitchen table. Lately you’re very into cars and can discuss all their makes and models. You started guitar lessons this past summer and I love hearing you practice. I love seeing your interests as you get older and watch you lean into the things that make you YOU. You’re an excellent big brother and are always looking out for your siblings and will happily stop what you’re doing to play cars with Killian, built an elaborate train track setup, or read him his bedtime story.

There is just something about your oldest. We’ve been on this journey together for 11 years since you made us parents in the middle of the night. We’ve grown and learned together since day one and seeing the kind, smart, empathetic, independent, wonderful young man you are now is one of my greatest joys. Happy birthday bug. 💙
