The handsome guy I'm married to grew up just outside of Atlanta. Prior to meeting him, my knowledge of the South was very limited, but over the course of us being together, I've grown to love and appreciate so many things about an area of the country that I had really known nothing about. Naturally, I've developed an appreciation for the food too. BBQ, Chick-fil-A, grits, Georgia peaches, and of course, vidalia onions. I actually had never had Chick-fil-a or grits before Kevin and I met! ... continue reading...
Gouda, Leek, and Apple Grilled Cheese
Let me tell you something. You need fancy grilled cheese in your life. Every morning we would have a huge breakfast at our hotel overlooking the lake and would head out for a day of adventures. Since we knew we would be having a big dinner, we always had ... continue reading...
Cherry Chocolate Breakfast Cookies
I'm a big fan of cookies for breakfast. We're all busy in the mornings, but we also all know that the last thing we should be doing is skipping breakfast. Now, I'm all for indulging, and sometimes only fast food French fries will do, but I think you'll feel a lot better if you eat something more like ... continue reading...
Bacon Jalapeno Cornbread
Who doesn't love cornbread? I grew up eating cornbread with meals for dinner, and then we would have it for breakfast in the morning with maple syrup and milk poured over it. Is that weird? My southern husband is a firm believer that cornbread shouldn't be too sweet. So what's a girl to do? Create some loaded savory cornbread that is super delicious and that is even good for breakfast without the maple syrup.
