Jalapeno Cheddar Turkey Burgers

Serves: 6-8 burgers
 
Ingredients
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 2 jalapenos, seeds removed, finely chopped
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. onion powder
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Oil for pan for cooking
  • Sliced cheddar cheese, for topping
  • Sliced tomato, lettuce, adn avocado, for topping (optional)
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine turkey, jalapenos, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and shredded cheese.
  2. Heat oil in a large frying pan or skillet. Use your hands to form patties. Cook on each side over medium-low heat until golden brown and cooked through. Check the internal temperature as well; it should read 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3. If topping with sliced cheddar cheese, place a slice on top of each burger and then cover to allow the cheese to melt.
  4. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels. Serve on a bun topped with lettuce, tomato, and avocado.
