Maple Breakfast Sausage

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs. ground pork
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. ground dried sage
  • 2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. ground dried thyme
  • ⅓ cup pure maple syrup
  • Oil for cooking
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine pork, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, sage, onion powder, thyme, and maple syrup. Using your hands, mix well to combine.
  2. Heat a thin layer of oil in a large frying pan or skillet. Form patties out of the pork mixture using your hands, and cook over medium low heat for 5-8 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature is 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3. Once cooked, remove from pan and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels. Continue until all sausage is cooked.
  4. Sausage can be enjoyed within a few days, or frozen for future use. Make sure you freeze with wax paper or parchment paper in between patties.
