This easy appetizer is the perfect one to make when entertaining over the holidays.
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry
1 8-9 oz. wheel of brie
½ - ¾ cranberry sauce*
Fresh thyme
1 egg
Flakey salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Crackers for serving
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Set the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and roll until it's 2 inches wider on all sides.
Place the brie in the center of the puff pastry and spoon cranberry sauce over it. Top with fresh thyme.
Moving in a circle around the brie, wrap the puff pastry up and over the cheese.
Transfer to a rimmed baking sheet lined with foil, then brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with flakey sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Bake for 30-40 minutes until the top is golden brown.
Serve warm with crackers.
Notes
*You can use any fresh cranberry sauce recipe that you like! If you don't have one, combine 2 cups of fresh cranberries, ½ cup of orange juice, and 2 tbsp. of brown sugar in a small saucepan on the stove. Cook until all the cranberries have broken down, adding more orange juice if needed.
