An easy and delicious holiday appetizer, with a crispy exterior, warm melty interior, and hot honey drizzle.
Ingredients
  • 1 wheel of brie
  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup panko bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ground black pepper
  • ⅔ cup honey
  • 1-3 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme
  • Oil for frying
Instructions
  1. Cut the brie into small slices or cubes.
  2. In a shallow bowl, crack the eggs and whisk.
  3. In a separate shallow bowl, mix the bread crumbs, flour, salt, and pepper.
  4. Heat the oil in a large skillet. Working in batches and being careful not to crowd the pan, coat the brie bites in the egg wash, followed by the breadcrumb mixture. Place the brie bites in the pan and cook on both sides until golden brown. Transfer to a paper plate lined with paper towels when they are done frying.
  5. In a microwave safe bowl or a small saucepan, combine the honey, red pepper flakes, and thyme. Heat until the honey is smooth and the mixture is combined, but do not bring to a simmer or the honey will harden when it cools.
  6. Drizzle the honey over the brie bites and serve any extra on the side while serving.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!
