Total time:
Serves: 6-8 servings
- 7-8 pears, cored and sliced (peeling is optional)
- 1½ cups all purpose flour
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1½ tsp. baking powder
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ¾ cup melted and browned butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup salted caramel sauce
- Flakey sea salt for topping
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for topping
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place the sliced pears in a baking dish. I used an 8 x 12 baking dish but you can also use a round or oval baking dish of an equivalent size.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the browned butter and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- Add the topping to the pears in the baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes until the top is golden brown and the pears are warm and bubbling.
- Top with the salted caramel sauce and serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Serve with your favorite Erath wine.
- Enjoy!
