Serves: 9-12 bars

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ tbsp. vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups chocolate chips + more for topping (optional)
  • 1½ cups crushed pretzel twists + more for topping (optional)
  • Salted caramel sauce and flakey sea salt for topping
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and spray an 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray and line with parchment paper for easy removal, if desired. You can also use an 8 x 12 baking pan for thinner blondies.
  2. Place your butter in a small saucepan and melt over medium heat. Once it melts, reduce heat to medium low and let the butter brown. The butter will smart to smell nutty and you'll see browned bits on the bottom of the pan. Keep a close eye on it so it doesn't burn! When your butter is golden brown, remove from heat. Let cool then pour into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the sugar to the mixing bowl and whisk well to combine. Add the eggs and whisk well. Add the vanilla extract and mix again.
  4. Add the baking powder and salt and mix to combine.
  5. Add the flour and mix until just combined. Then fold in the chocolate chips and crushed pretzels.
  6. Transfer the batter into your prepared pan and top with additional pretzels and chocolate chips, if desired.
  7. Bake for about 30 minutes until the center is almost set. Let the bars cool completely before removing from the pan. Once cool, carefully remove from the pan using the parchment paper. Drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle with flakey salt.
  8. Enjoy!
